1 What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you visit a website. Local storage is a similar mechanism used by websites and apps to persist information between sessions. In iOS apps, this functionality is provided by Apple's UserDefaults system rather than traditional browser cookies.
Good news: FolioTrax does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not share local storage data with advertisers or data brokers.
2 How Our Applications Use Local Storage (iOS)
Our applications use Apple's UserDefaults system to store essential preferences and state on your device. This storage is local — it never leaves your device unless you explicitly use iCloud backup. The examples below are based on FolioTrax; future applications may use similar keys for equivalent purposes.
| Storage Key | Purpose | Persistent? |
|---|---|---|
| hasAcceptedPrivacy | Records whether you have accepted the Privacy Policy and Terms | Yes |
| hasCompletedOnboarding | Tracks whether the first-launch onboarding flow has been completed | Yes |
| trialStartDate | Records when your 7-day free trial began | Yes |
| appLanguage | Stores your language preference (English or Turkish) | Yes |
| isPrivacyMaskEnabled | Remembers whether numbers are hidden on the Home screen | Yes |
| selectedCurrency | Your preferred display currency | Yes |
| homeSectionOrder | Your customized Home screen section arrangement | Yes |
All portfolio data, transactions, accounts, and assets in our applications are stored locally on your device using secure app-level storage. This data is not accessible to us.
3 How This Website Uses Local Storage (cempm.com)
The cempm.com website uses browser localStorage for a single purpose:
- Language preference (key:
cempm-lang) — stores whether you have selected English or Turkish so your preference is remembered between visits
We do not use on this website:
- Advertising or marketing cookies
- Analytics or tracking scripts (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- Third-party tracking cookies of any kind
- Session cookies for authentication
- Cross-site tracking mechanisms
4 Essential vs Non-Essential Storage
All storage used by our applications and cempm.com is essential — it is required for the application and website to function correctly. We do not use non-essential cookies such as advertising, profiling, or analytics cookies that would require your separate consent under privacy regulations such as GDPR or CCPA.
5 Third-Party Cookies
Our iOS applications do not integrate any third-party SDKs that set cookies or local storage data.
The cempm.com website uses Google Fonts to load typography. Google Fonts may set cookies as part of its content delivery network. We recommend reviewing Google's Privacy Policy for information on how Google handles data from its services.
6 Managing and Clearing Storage
In our iOS applications:
- Go to Settings → Clear All Data (or equivalent) to remove all app data and local storage
- Uninstalling any of our applications removes all associated local storage from your device
- Individual preferences can be reset through the Settings screen within each application
On cempm.com (browser):
- You can clear local storage by clearing your browser's site data for cempm.com
- In Safari: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data → cempm.com → Delete
- In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear Browsing Data → Cookies and site data
- Clearing storage will reset your language preference to the default (English)
7 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of any of our applications or cempm.com after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
